The Medical Officer of Songwe Regional Referral Hospital is pleased to announce 12 job openings for Class II Doctors. All qualified Tanzanians with a sincere desire to work at the Songwe Regional Referral Hospital are invited to apply for a one-year contract in the following position:
- Class II Doctor – (12 Positions)
Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four (IV) or Form Six (VI) with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a recognized University/College.
- Completion of Internship and registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform medical duties related to various diseases, including pediatric, maternal health, and emergency surgeries.
- Provide and manage health education to improve community health in the district and region.
- Investigate, monitor, and prevent disease outbreaks.
- Maintain and utilize health statistics as per guidelines.
- Plan and evaluate health services at the workplace.
- Teach students and employees at the workplace.
- Supervise and direct subordinate employees.
- Instruct students in health colleges within the work area.
- Conduct and disseminate research findings.
- Develop strategies to improve the quality of field services.
- Prepare health service plans and budget estimates.
- Review and improve health services through medical audits and quality improvement.
- Provide outreach services in the district/region.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Head of the department.
General Conditions for All Applicants
- Must be a citizen of Tanzania, aged between 18 and 45 years.

- Provide relevant professional certificates, testimonials, provisional results, and statements of results. Fourth form results must be verified.
